The customer onboarding checklist worksheet turns your own onboarding into numbers before you commit to it: the rows a checklist needs once every step and document request is counted, how many onboardings are in flight at any moment at your volume and target, the minutes and hours a month they cost, the working days that is across your people, and how many days each step actually gets inside the window you promise. Enter your own figures and it computes on the page, with no account.

The checklist, sized before it is written

A checklist is your steps plus the documents you ask for, and until somebody counts both, nobody knows whether it is a page or four. The worksheet adds them and returns the rows, which is the first honest number in this whole exercise.

What is in flight, not what is in the month

Monthly volume is the number a founder quotes. In-flight is the number a person is actually holding: your monthly clients multiplied by the days you allow, over the days in a month. That is the figure that tells you when one person stops being enough.

The hours, and the working days they eat

Minutes per step times steps times clients is the monthly cost of your onboarding in minutes; the worksheet converts it to hours and then to working days across however many people run it. A process nobody has costed is a process nobody can defend cutting.

The chase, counted honestly

Every document you request can go unreturned, and each one takes follow-ups. Multiplying clients by documents by follow-ups gives the worst case a month: not a prediction, a ceiling, and usually the number that makes a firm shorten its document list.

What the worksheet refuses to decide

How long your onboarding should take, how many steps is right and which documents you must collect are your firm's decisions and, where regulated, your counsel's. The worksheet does arithmetic on what you enter and nothing else.

Customer onboarding checklist: common questions

What counts as a step? Whatever you would tick. A kickoff call is a step; so is setting up the account, so is sending the welcome pack. The worksheet does not judge your process, it counts it.

Why count onboardings in flight? Because that, not the monthly total, is the number a person is holding at once. Eight clients a month at a twenty-one day target is about five and a half live at any moment, and that is the workload.

Where do the numbers come from? Entirely from your inputs, plus plain arithmetic: 30.44 days to a month and eight hours to a working day. No benchmark and no assumption about how long onboarding should take.

Keeping what you make

The worksheet answered today's question. Pro keeps the answer: the plan you just worked saved against the team it belongs to, re-opened at the next review instead of rebuilt, branded and exported for the budget meeting.

  • Download the finished checklist or intake form as a file the client accepts
  • The paperwork goes out clean, without the Kickoffo watermark
  • Re-use the checklist for the next client instead of rebuilding it
  • Your firm's logo on every checklist and form you send
  • Export every client's onboarding at once when the account review or the buyer asks
  • Send the plan for review from the record, not a spreadsheet
  • Not part of Orgplanly today; your billing stays where it is
